OPCAB confirms survival benefit over conventional CABG

OPCAB confirms survival benefit over conventional CABG

In December 2019 important data came from UK.

Improved results of off-pump coronary artery bypass operations (OPCAB) were confirmed while comparing to a classical technique using extracorporeal circulation (CABG). More than 3,600 patients have been observed for 15 years in this study. Long term survival of patients was significantly longer in OPCAB group in comparison to CABG.

These results confirm the analyses we have carried out in the development of Heart Sense technology. According to our analysis, improving OPCAB operations may be key to the long-standing advantage of surgical revascularization over other treatments for advanced coronary artery disease. Therefore, the purpose of our work is to introduce a device supporting the team of doctors at the time of OPCAB procedure.
